Theo Vingroup, động thái này nhằm tập trung nguồn lực cho các dự án hạ tầng và năng lượng trọng điểm, như dự án Khu đô thị thể thao Olympic và sân vận động cấp quốc gia Trống Đồng, các tuyến đường sắt tốc độ cao Bến Thành – Cần Giờ và Hà Nội – Quảng Ninh…

Quyết định xin rút đã được tập đoàn cân nhắc kỹ lưỡng nhằm đảm bảo tập trung tối đa nguồn lực cho các dự án hạ tầng chiến lược trọng điểm vừa được giao nhiệm vụ triển khai.

Hiện doanh nghiệp này đang triển khai nhiều dự án quy mô lớn, trong đó có dự án Khu đô thị thể thao Olympic tại Hà Nội có quy mô hơn 9.000ha, với trung tâm là quần thể các công trình thể thao chất lượng cao, bao gồm sân vận động Trống Đồng.

Cùng với đó là dự án Khu đô thị thể thao Olympic, Vingroup cũng được giao làm chủ đầu tư một số tuyến hạ tầng giao thông quan trọng như: tuyến đường sắt tốc độ cao Bến Thành - Cần Giờ; tuyến đường sắt tốc độ cao Hà Nội - Quảng Ninh…

Ngoài ra, Vingroup cũng đang dốc toàn lực triển khai hàng loạt dự án công nghiệp, năng lượng và hạ tầng quan trọng khác như Nhà máy sản xuất thép VinMetal; 2 nhà máy điện gió tại Kỳ Anh (Hà Tĩnh), nhà máy Nhiệt điện LNG Hải Phòng, siêu đô thị biển Cần Giờ…. Đây đều là những dự án góp phần nâng cấp hạ tầng và năng lực sản xuất cho đất nước, đòi hỏi đầu tư rất lớn về nguồn vốn, thời gian và năng lực triển khai.

Trong khi đó, dự án Đường sắt tốc độ cao Bắc – Nam đã nhận được sự quan tâm và đề xuất đầu tư của nhiều doanh nghiệp có tiềm lực và kinh nghiệm như: Thaco Trường Hải, Công ty CP Vận tải đường sắt Việt Nam, Tập đoàn Đầu tư và Phát triển Việt Nam (Vietnam 3000)...

Đây là bước đi chủ động và có trách nhiệm của Vingroup trước Chính phủ để đảm bảo thực hiện tốt nhất những dự án đã được giao, góp phần phát triển hạ tầng giao thông, năng lượng tái tạo và đô thị theo hướng hiện đại, bền vững, nâng cao năng lực cạnh tranh quốc gia và chất lượng sống của người dân Việt Nam”, phía Vingroup cho biết.
