Dự án đường dây 500kV mạch 3 kéo dài gồm 4 dự án thành phần, có chiều dài 519km, đi qua địa bàn 211 xã, phường của 43 huyện, thị xã thuộc 9 tỉnh, gồm: Quảng Bình, Hà Tĩnh, Nghệ An, Thanh Hóa, Ninh Bình, Nam Định, Thái Bình, Hải Dương, Hưng Yên.
Dự án có tổng số 1.177 móng cột, tổng mức đầu tư hơn 22.300 tỷ đồng (gần 1 tỷ USD). Các dự án này đều khởi công tháng 10/2023 và tháng 1/2024.
Đường dây 500kV mạch 3 đoạn qua tỉnh Thanh Hóa
Được biết, dự án có khối lượng đào đất đá là hơn 2,5 triệu m3, sử dụng hơn 705.000m3 bê tông, gần 70.000 tấn cốt thép móng; tổng khối lượng lắp dựng cột thép là 139.000 tấn; kéo tổng cộng gần 14.000km dây dẫn các loại.
Đây là dự án trọng điểm, cấp bách, có ý nghĩa rất quan trọng để tăng cường năng lực truyền tải điện qua hệ thống 500 kV từ Trung - Bắc với công suất từ 2.500MW hiện nay lên 5.000MW, nâng cao sự ổn định vận hành hệ thống điện, tăng cường cung cấp điện cho miền Bắc năm 2025 và các năm tiếp theo.
Đồng thời giảm bớt nguy cơ đầy và quá tải cho các đường dây và trạm 500kV hiện hữu, góp phần đảm bảo an ninh năng lượng quốc gia.
Theo EVN, mặc dù gặp nhiều khó khăn, thách thức, tuy nhiên dự án đường dây 500kV mạch 3 Quảng Trạch - Phố Nối đã hoàn thành sau khoảng 6 tháng thi công.
Đây là điều chưa từng có tiền lệ với các công trình xây dựng đường dây 500kV trước đó khi theo đánh giá, các dự án có quy mô, khối lượng tương tự phải triển khai trong thời gian từ 3 đến 4 năm.

Ngày 28/1, Thủ tướng Phạm Minh Chính đã chủ trì hội nghị trực tuyến tại Thanh Hóa với 9 địa phương, nơi có đường dây 500kV mạch 3 đi qua, sau khi dành riêng một ngày (27/1) đi thị sát tại 4 điểm vị trí móng cột ở các tỉnh Thái Bình, Nam Định, Ninh Bình và Thanh Hóa.
